Research and academics have long been part of my life, and today I am pursuing a PhD specializing in Technology Management and Entrepreneurship and Innovation at the International School of Management (ISM).
Given my role as a practitioner, I'm in the unique position of understanding how research benefits solution design for a specific problem and how commercial investment can propel real-life experimentation and prototyping, where academia often lacks the resources to invest at the level required, especially in tech.
I'm focusing my dissertation and research scope on the design of a platform model to bridge the gap between the two spheres, focusing on practice-oriented research. Within this model I will then explore the role that Artifical Intelligence (A.I.) can play in enhancing the growth of SMEs in Emerging Markets.
I completed my Master's Degree at Bogazici University in Istanbul, where I focused on the Role of Media in Democracy within the context of the 2011 national elections and the reinforcement of political polarization. Within this body of research I developed my own coding methodology from the raw data to generate a frame analysis and evaluate the polarization, and lack of media citizenship (i.e. the fourth arm of governance) in Turkish national media. This thesis effectively identified the turning point in which the shift in media emerged, predicting the massive changes observed in the Turkish media landscape since.
I also hold a Chartered Institute of Marketing (CIM) Level 6 Diploma in Professional Marketing and have written the course curriculum and lesson content for various workshops and courses related to getting online, branding, digital marketing, and business management.
